Their Mission is "to provide education and awareness to the public regarding responsible pet ownership, as well as benevolent assistance to those in need and charitable giving to other non-profit organizations."
Moving out to the Southwest from Boston last year, I connected with Sarah at Community Paws, a local organization in the West Valley of Arizona. I write a monthly article on behalf of Community Paws for our local community magazine to help spread the word about their local events and efforts, along with pet awareness and education. My husband and I have even fostered a couple of senior besties, who luckily have found their forever home!! I am happy to support Community Paws and help spread the love & kindness that our fur-friends continue to share and teach us.

P.S. A special Thank You to everyone who helped support Frido at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary during the month of November. This #SoulfulSenior is still looking for his forever home... could that be you?
#SoulfulSenior For the month of November, 10% of your purchases will support Frido!
From Best Friend's website:
"No one's happier to have company than Frido. He loves attention and is eager to be with people, especially when they brush his beautiful coat or take him for rides on the golf cart.
Born in 2008, Frido is sweet, gentle, mellow and housetrained. He's a wonderful listener and easy to walk on a leash. He has already lost a lot of weight and is currently working on dropping even more pounds to get down to a healthy weight. He gets insulin and takes medication for diabetes, Cushing's disease and pain in his leg. Despite his medical needs, Frido is a very happy and easy boy. He's perfectly happy to go on short walks, and he'd do great in a quiet, loving home where he can spend hours hanging out with his special person on the couch."

P.S. A special Thank You to everyone who helped support Doc at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary during the month of October. #TheGoodDoctor is still looking for his forever home... could that be you?
#TheGoodDoctor For the month of October, 10% of your purchases will support Doc!
I had the pleasure of meeting Doc on a recent trip to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. Since I am beginning my four year journey into naturopathic medical school tomorrow, choosing Doc for the month of October felt more than fitting. Doc is a gentle soulful guy and looking to share his love with you!
From Best Friend's website:
"Doc is a very popular guy in Dogtown who is loved by staff and volunteers alike. He likes to spend his days greeting visitors at Dogtown headquarters or hanging out in one of the Sanctuary's offices. Doc has also been a great sleepover buddy for Dogtown volunteers. He is fantastic company, and he loves to be anywhere that feels like a home.
Born in 2007, Doc can be a little picky about his doggie friends, and he does not do well with cats. He currently eats a prescription diet. Doc is a happy, friendly homebody just looking for a place to call his own.
Doc has generous sponsors who will cover the costs of his adoption."
Yay! It's always good to have a doctor in the house, right?!?
To learn more about Doc, please click here, or on the image above. If you have cats (like us), Doc wouldn't be the best fit for your home, however you can still Share the Love and help spread the word! Thank you kindly!!

I received this shirt shortly after I received my acceptance letter to SCNM in July of 2016. My acceptance to naturopathic medical school was contingent on the completion of a handful of pre-requisite courses that the overachiever in me thought I could bang out in a few short months before leaving the East Coast. Then I would wear this shirt. Then it would be official... Not so much. . .
I brought this shirt into my healing space in Newburyport, MA in the summer of 2016 as I contemplated the thought of what it would look like to close up my practice of 12 years.
This shirt traveled with me to Portsmouth, NH as we rented an adorable yet tiny cottage after our house sold and we found ourselves living in limbo.
This shirt traveled with me to my childhood ND's office, Dr. Edward Ellis of Peterborough NH, on my last day of shadowing in his clinic, the place that I had spent my Wednesdays for the year prior, in consideration of finally applying to ND school. "Why aren't you wearing this shirt?", he asked. "Not yet", I said.
This shirt sat in the passenger seat as I took my final drive in my car before selling it in anticipation for my move to the desert.
And when we finally packed up the Uhaul one snowy day after Christmas, this shirt found its way into the safety of one of my boxes, nestled amongst the keepsakes of my life thus far in New England.
Over 2,800 miles, many days and states later, this shirt found its way into my new closet, in Arizona, where it hung patiently, still waiting to be worn...
When my anticipated April 2017 start date passed with my head still buried in my books, I silently sighed. Yet I keep envisioning the day I would finish my last pre-req course, and smiled knowing I would eventually get there one day.
Today is that day. Yay!! 😀
I had the pleasure of meeting Lincoln on a recent volunteer trip to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. I actually remember meeting him the previous year as well. Sigh. Lincoln is such a LOVE!
For the month of August, 10% of all purchases on PeaceLoveTSD.org will be donated to support Lincoln. Yay!
This handsome fellow is gentle, friendly and looking for his forever home. At 10 years young, Lincoln is really looking forward to spending his golden years in the comforts of a laid back home. Lincoln is a sociable pup and enjoys food puzzles to keep his brain sharp, and also helps to slow down his eating. Lincoln prefers no cats or dogs in the household, and so unfortunately Lincoln was not the best fit for our family, however he may be just right for yours!
Due to a generous sponsor, Lincoln's adoption fees are paid for! Yay!!
Click here for Lincoln's full bio on the Best Friends site.

Hello! Happy 2017! It's been awhile since I've posted here. Life has been full!
For those new to this blog, I’m a New England transplant, born and raised just north of Boston. I’ve spent most of my life in Massachusetts, having established a holistic healing practice in the quaint seaside town of Newburyport for over a decade.
My husband and I fell in love with the Verrado Community a few years back and have since visited on some of our many cross-country trips, road-trips, and visits to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT.
Last year, I was accepted into a naturopathic medical program at SCNM in Tempe. This has been a lifelong dream of mine! After much conversation and prayer, we decided to take a leap of faith. We officially became Verrado residents and home owners on December 30, 2016 after a 2,800 mile road-trip (our longest by far!) driving a UHaul packed up with all of our belongings and towing one car. While it was bittersweet to leave behind our families, friends, and my many clients from throughout the years, I am excited for the possibility of the adventures that lay ahead!
decided to begin offering mobile Reflexology sessions to Verrado residents on a part-time basis now as I finish up with some pre-requisites courses for my anticipated April start date at SCNM. While I certainly have more flexibility in my schedule now, I do plan to continue on a part-time basis once school begins, more likely in the evenings and Saturdays.
If you are unfamiliar with Reflexology, it is a nice introduction to receiving healing bodywork as I work mainly on your feet. You can learn more about Reflexology and its benefits on my other website: www.GratefulSpiritHealing.com. Whether you are new to holistic healing and curious about the possibilities of what it’s all about, or are a seasoned wellness enthusiast, you will be met with gratitude and an open, compassionate heart.
I keep my rates affordable because I want more people to give them a try. My intention is that you begin to view Reflexology and other natural therapies as an integrative & necessary part of your Self-Care and preventative medicine/holistic lifestyle — not as a luxury spa service to ‘treat yourself’ every once in a while. Our bodies are always speaking to us. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, oftentimes, we overlook these messages, or say “I’ll just deal with that later.” Our health is truly our greatest wealth.
I invite you to stay connected via my social media links, to follow my blog, and also to join my newsletter for weekly Mondays are Magnificent emails.
